
EAPCC SIGNS COLLECTIVE BARGAINING AGREEMENT WITH THE KENYA CHEMICAL AND ALLIED WORKER’S UNION
On Friday 12th March 2010, EAPCC renewed its commitment to its workers as it renewed its Collective Bargaining Agreement with the Kenya Chemical and Allied Workers union at the Serena Hotel.
The Collective Bargaining Agreement will see EAPCC benefit from the development of a work force that enjoys a sustainable and decent work environment through various improvements in Union staff benefits as outlined below:-
- An increment of wages by 34%. This increase will be spread through three years.
- An increment in the leave/Travelling allowance.
- Increments in the Meal and Safari Allowances respectively.
These are just a few of the overall changes that the amended Collective Bargaining Agreement between the East African Portland Cement Company Limited and the Kenya Chemical and Allied Workers Union which will see EAPCC move on to greater heights in terms of overall employee performance and motivation. This agreement also enhances the Company’s commitment to promote the creation of productive and sustainable employment opportunities as well as the enhancement of social protection for all Union employees in the Organization.
