The Factory Tour
The shareholders together with the Chairman and Managing Director of East African Portland Cement were taken to see the different stages that are involved during the processing and production of the cement.
After the factory tour the shareholders were served with a hearty meal which was well catered for and prepared by the Safari Park Hotel-outside caterers.
Shareholders who had gone for the factory tour renewed their energy by diving into the different meals that had been prepared by the caterers.
The Chairman invited a few shareholders to comment on anything they felt regarding the company. Those who came forward were grateful to EAPCC for all the work they had done to prepare for the day and promised to continue to support the company in all its undertakings.
There was a vote of thanks made by the Head of Productions Manager, Mr. Kananga who thanked the Chairman and the Managing Director of EAPCC for being present during such an important function. He further added that “cement manufacturers are always at loggerheads with the farmers because; farmers need rain to ensure their crops grow, while as cement manufacturers, cement is difficult to process and produce because the rain makes it hard for the machines to breakdown the dust particles because they will require more power and energy to do so.”
A shareholder ended with a word of prayer which marked the ending of the meeting.
Each of the shareholders received a hamper that was specially packed for them by the Cooperate Affairs department.
