Portland Cement Company has donated
more than Sh8 million to the National
Famine Relief Fund and rural economic
empowerment projects. Public Relations
Officer Cyrus Mwelwa said the contribution
would assist its neighbouring community.
Speaking after more than 200 Portland
employees participated in a 15-km
fundraising walk, Mr Mwelwa said Portland
had a social responsibility to assist
the underprivileged. The mid-morning
walk, led by Managing Director Ole
Mapelu Zakayo raised more than Sh100,000.
